In the latest evolution to the iconic Classic Moc family, Red Wing Heritage presents the Shop Moc Oxford. The Shop Moc Oxford can be traced to style no. 895 when the oxford version first appeared in the Red Wing Shoe catalog in 1954; just two years after the release of the iconic 8-in Classic Moc. Today, the Shop Moc Oxford draws inspiration from this style and it’s iconic best-selling siblings at taller heights. It features the same Goodyear leather welt construction, Puritan triple stitching, leather insole and Traction Tred outsole. The easy, ankle-height oxford offers ease of lacing and styling for warmer seasons or pair with pants for the same look as our 6-inch moc with a lighter weight. The design is comfortable anywhere from rugged hikes through the wilderness, to stomping around the city.

A new pair of Red Wing Heritage footwear should fit comfortably tight on the foot, with enough room to freely wiggle toes. As you wear the footwear, the full grain leather upper, insole, and cork midsole will mold to your feet, creating an increasingly personalized fit over time. 

Oro Legacy leather is proprietary to Red Wing Shoes and developed in partnership with S.B. Foot Tanning Company as a re-production of the original leather first used in the 1950’s on the iconic #875 Classic Moc style. The full-grain, aniline leather requires Grade A hide selection since all natural textures remain visible with minimum finishing. The exceptionally durable, oil-tanned material is water, stain and perspiration resistant and ages with grace when provided proper care.

Traction Tred is a soft, yet durable material that provides all-day comfort and the unique zig-zag pattern offers traction while leaving mud and dirt behind. Today, the men’s Heritage Traction Tred outsole offers a natural grip with styrene-butadiene blown
rubber from Vibram®.

The standard practice since our start in 1905, the 4.2mm thick vegetable-tanned leather insole features many fine holes to absorb perspiration and keep feet cool. Layered over fine-ground cork filler and adhered to a ply rib that serves as the foundation of the boot, the owner earns a comfortable, personal fit as the stiff leather softens over time. The genuine leather insole is fully serviceable and able to be resoled.
