In Japan in the early 1920s, "sashiko"stitched fabric was used as the base cloth for first to third base. In order to reproduce this, Jackman commissioned a martial arts equipment manufacturer established in 1918 to complete a "sashiko" fabric woven on a special loom using No. 20 cotton yarn twisted to the limit in order to produce a distinctly uneven surface. It is then paraffin-waxed and bio-washed to soften the texture for easy wear. With the motif of umpire pants, a large pocket is placed from the waist to the hips.
