Stadium Jacket - Indigo Dyed Panama Cloth
The Stadium Jacket from 3sixteen is one of their perennial top-sellers, and for good reason. This season sees them use the indigo selvedge Panama cloth fabric that was introduced last year and applied to the Stadium Jacket. The Panama cloth features mind-bending texture and is heavy from the jump, so you know it will fade drastically over time. The jacket features a black quilted jersey Thermolite® lining which provides warm insulation and is finished with heavyweight varsity jacket ribbing and a gunmetal YKK double zip.

Panama Cloth features a basketweave construction, which means that the warp and weft threads criss-cross to form a checkerboard pattern. Both of the warp and weft yarns are indigo dyed to give the fabric a deep blue colour not unlike their shadow selvedge. What's great about the Panama Cloth fabric is its rough and uneven texture. While the fabric is by no means uncomfortable against the skin (and with wear and washes, it actually softens up significantly - faster than denim too), what makes it unique is its fading potential. The inconsistent texture of the fabric causes it to wear down beautifully, whereby you'll see countless shades of blue up close after just a few months of wear. Seeing some of the worn-in examples over the past year, we have no doubt that this is a fabric that will continue to transform in a special way over time.
