For this season's editorial photoshoot, we trekked over to Christie Pits Park on a weekday afternoon. Normally full of people enjoying a nice Spring day, due to the forced lockdown, the park was quieter than normal. Baseball diamonds team-less. Pools water-less. And benches conversation-less. That being said, we wanted to capture some laidback looks that Spring/Summer garbs usually conjure up. Shot by our good friend Jamie Lahtinen. Modelled by Rashaun and Shad.

Introducing Novesta

Novesta's production facilities date back to the 1930s, when the famous shoemaker Jan Antonin Bata opened a new factory in the small town of Partizánske in the middle of Slovakia. Over the time, Novesta has become one of the last purely European produced brands throughout Europe. Novesta’s unique sneakers, which pair imaginative design with timeless sophistication, are recognizable around the world.

For Novesta, quality design refers to more than fashion. They are dedicated to manufacturing shoes according to the highest environmental standards. That’s why they use materials such as natural rubber and 100% cotton and linen. These materials allow them to produce ecological footwear of the highest quality. Novesta uses only certified materials. The natural rubber sole is machine-pressed onto the body of the shoe. The shoe is then finished by precise manual work completed by skilled craftsmen. This ethnical and ecological process results in tire marks around the outsole – Novesta’s trademark look!

The signature shoe of the Novesta brand, the Star Master still carries the unmistakable chunky sole and vulcanization marks that guarantee a true Novesta shoe that can withstand the hardest challenges. Star Master originates from military sports shoes which were produced for half a century in Slovakia and combine comfort with a rugged determination. Every pair is handmade from the finest natural rubber and canvases. The style is recognizable anywhere in the world. The shoe carries the signature ‘Trampky’ logo which marks each pair as a descendant of the true Slovakian people’s shoe. The easily identified silhouette is a true European classic and one of the continent’s most enduring sneaker shapes.

Introducing Secrid

It all started back in 2009, when founders René van Geer and Marianne van Sasse van IJsselt when the first 13 wallets were produced on their kitchen table, together with friends and family. As partners, they had already been living and working together for 25 years. Their backgrounds in fashion and product design are now strongly reflected in the Secrid brand: innovative lifestyle accessories for everyday use.

Winner of the Red Dot Design Award, their first innovation was the Card Protector. With features like an aluminum core that keeps cards RFID safe and a patented mechanism that allows one simple motion to access your cards, it's not surprising they received the design award. The collection has since expanded, but the Card Protector is at the core of the collection. A Money Band, Card Slid, Mini Wallet, Slim Wallet and Twin Wallet have been added to the collection and all but the latter are available at Muddy George.

By developing a revolutionary different product and production process, wallets are once again being produced on a large scale in the Netherlands. More efficient and cleaner than ever and at a quantity never before seen in the Netherlands. Close cooperation with our 40 suppliers also plays a part in this. From the sewing workshop in Vlaardingen to the social enterprise in Leiden. Produced in favourable conditions and with concern for the environment, Secrid has already created more than 200 jobs in the Netherlands.
